Boomtown Jazz Ma Tazz FDGCH, CGC a/k/a "Staffanator"!
Jazz is, and always has been, a wild woman! She was the only girl in a litter of boys and she bossed them all around. She joined the Romaine clan at the age of seven weeks and she's been in charge ever since. Jazz began racing flyball at ten months of age completing her total obsession with anything resembling a green, fuzzy tennis ball. She took time out in late 1999 to be a mother, moved from Dallas to Phoenix in 2000; broke her toe in early 2001; and had more pups in 2002 and 2003. Since then, she's been a racing fool. Although she's always up and ready for any game, her softer side often comes out around the house -- earning her the nicknames of "Pooh Bear" and "Jazzy Pants". In December 2006, Jazz was diagnosed with fatal liver failure. We immediately put her on holistic supplements and a special diet. We also spent a lot of time sending healing thoughts her way while we rubbed her belly. She really liked that therapy. Amazingly, in July of 2007, Jazz's tests showed that she was 100% recovered. She's a fighter and she'll be on the flyball field until her last breath, we are sure. She is truly one special girl.

Racing in Sunnyvale '04, Jazz earned her FMCH. I was never so proud.
For a grandmother several times over, Jazz is still completely buff!
My best girl and favorite flyball buddy, my Jazzer...
Jazz's box turn has become totally awesome as she's gotten older; no thanks to me. It's all natural talent in this dynamic package!
As she flies over the jumps, barely making the landing, she resembles a small Superman - and that's pretty much the performance she gives for her team as well!

Jazzie hanging out at home. What you don't see is the bag of chips in the hands of the small boy next to her.
When Jazz was ill, Garrett hung out and watched television with her so she would feel better.
Jazz ran in the 2006 Cynosport games at the age of 9 1/2.
She was the main height dog for our Purgatory team and she ran some of the fastest times of her career.
This may well have been her last race as she was diagnosed with liver failure not a month thereafter.
Here she is doing what she loves best.

In May of 2007, Jazz was main height dog one last time (we thought) over 10".
In December 2007, Jazz was still going strong as a backup height dog. She still has that gusto and is still running her "usual" times!
I love racing with my Jazzie. She always gives it her all and only has to rerun when I pass her early.
